Mission and Goals

The "I Have A Dream"® Foundation--Project 312 is a nonprofit educational organization in Washington D.C. Launched in June of 2002 as the 176th chapter of the national "I Have A Dream"® Foundation, Project 312 provides an enduring program of academic support and enrichment for our group of thirty sixth-grade Dreamers.

We broadcast our vision of equal educational opportunity through original photography that challenges negative stereotypes while creating positive reflections for growth and self-discovery.

The ultimate goals of "I Have A Dream"®-Project 312 are to:
  • Empower each Dreamer to achieve high levels of personal and academic success
  • Nurture the creative gifts of each individual Dreamer
  • Provide diverse opportunities for social/cultural enrichment and health/fitness development
  • Foster education and access leading to technological proficiency
  • Achieve a 100% high school graduation rate
  • Promote career and college awareness with the guaranteed opportunity for higher education
  • Secure substantial increases in program funding to expand student opportunity
  • Inspire a wide public audience by actively communicating our visual message of equal educational opportunity
